WildPro is an excellent place to find information on treating and managing wildlife, from facts on wild animals and diseases to photos and video clips on surgical procedures. It includes information on emerging infectious diseases

On the Wildpro homepage you will find the Library, Encyclopedia, and Volumes. The contents of each are described below.

  • Access full text of more than 100 factsheets, papers, and handbooks on the following topics:

  • Disease Investigation and Habitat Management [complete list]
  • Animal Species Information & Management Guidelines (non-marine) [complete list]
  • Marine Wildlife Guidelines [complete list]

  • Here you can search WildPro by keyword. Just type in the term you are looking for and click “Start Search.”
• Volumes
  • Located on the right hand side of the homepage, the volumes include useful
  • information on several diseases and treatment for selected wildlife.

In addition to the above resources located on the homepage, there are seven additional sections in WildPro. These sections can be found using the links at the top of the webpage, and include:

• Species
  Find information on a particular species, including Habitat, Morphology, Physiology, and Behavior, as well as images.
• Chemicals
  Nutrients, toxins and other chemical substances are covered in this section, with special attention towards associated diseases.
• Physical Factors
  In this section, explore the intersection of environmental factors and disease. Currently contains information related primarily to Waterfowl, with notes on Bears and Hedgehogs.
• How To…
  Find how to best manage species, diseases, and habitats using WildPro’s guides. This section provides flowcharts to aid in your decision-making process—click on the chart to learn more about each step. Be sure to check out the video clips.
• Diseases
  Look up wildlife diseases by Disease Category or WildPro Volume. For each disease listed you will find Alternative Names, Disease Agents, General Description, Further Information, Associated Techniques, and Host Species.
• Environments
  View a variety of habitat types, including Continental Land Zones, Aquatic Zones, North American Mosquito Habitats, and Individual Living Species Zones. Note: These pages are currently under construction.
• References & Glossary
  Especially useful in this section is a list of references used in WildPro for future research, video clips of veterinary procedures, and legislation (with an emphasis on British and European law).
