E-Resource Stewardship is a program designed by the Electronic Resources and Services Working Group (ERSWG) to facilitate the ongoing management of electronic resources on the Harvard Libraries portal.
In order to manage the Harvard University Library’s collection of electronic resources, each resource in E-Research @ Harvard Libraries is assigned to a principal stewarding library. Each library is asked to designate one person as its primary contact point for stewardship activities, called the Library Steward Coordinator. The execution of stewardship responsibilities is then managed and distributed among library staff in accordance with local policies and practices.
The Library Steward provides reliable expertise regarding content, scope, training, and interface issues for the e-resource. The Steward also is responsible for resource monitoring, renewal evaluations, information in E-Research @ Harvard Libraries, community building, and providing feedback to ERSWG.
When using the Stewardship Coordinator approach, the Coordinator is primarily responsible for managing stewardship for the assigned e-resources, but is not necessarily the Library Steward for every resource assigned to the library.
Find stewards using Harvard ERM! Stewards are listed in resource records. Navigate to the resource, where you will find the Stewarding library and a direct email link for the Steward contact. Or, browse the list of libraries to see all the resources stewarded by that library.
