Mission Statement

The Centre for Digital Humanities Innovation (CDHI) provides a resource and collaborative locus for the community whose work adapts and advances computing techniques in humanities scholarship and pedagogy.

Who we are

CDHI was founded in 2002 with support from the Canadian Foundation for Innovation, the BC Knowledge Development Fund, and the Malaspina Foundation.

The focal points of the work and projects carried out at the Centre for Digital Humanities Innovation Lab are:

  1. the digital representation of image-, text-, and sound-based cultural artefacts,
  2. the dissemination and study of these new digital artefacts,
  3. research into pedagogical concerns associated with computing in the humanities.
