This document was developed by representatives of the Association of American Universities, the Association of Research Libraries, the Association of American University Presses, and the Association of American Publishers in order to spell out the rights and responsibilities of students and faculty using copyrighted works. These organizations represent sectors which play central roles within higher education in the creation, use, and management of copyrighted works.
