The Gold Coast Fund, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)3, non-governmental organization created in 2006 to set up villages libraries in West Africa. The goal is to establish small, self-sustaining libraries, based in rural villages. The first project, undertaken July 2007 in the small village of Koniyaw (near Kumasi, in Ghana) was a success, with over 100 books, as well as library and supplies.
